Allie reading to the babies

Allie is getting to the point where she can play with her toys by herself. I know, you think this would have started in infancy, but ever since she could move this girl just follows me EVERYWHERE. It has been a nice break to have like 15 minutes to get ready in peace.

The other day I heard her talking in her room. I walked in I found Allie on her changing pad with all of her babies reading them a book. She is so cute, she just loves, loves, loves her dolls.

Ice Cream Man

A cute conversation between me and Allie this morning

Allie: "Mommy, potty."
Kim: "You need to go potty?"
Allie: "Potty, money!"
Kim: "You do get money for going potty. What do you want with your money?"
Allie: "Ice Cream Man!"

Allie is infatuated with the Ice Cream Man. I have got to get her on video when she hears the music and realizes he is in on the street. He comes through our neighborhood pretty close to daily. We have never bought anything, nor have I ever told Allie that you need money to buy the ice cream, but I guess she is pretty set on getting herself some ice cream.

Memorial Day

Well it's been awhile since we had visited the cabin...and what a gorgeous few days we had.

Blake and I headed up to Donnelly on Saturday night and enjoyed a relaxing Sunday. We visited the Cascade Branch for church along with 50 other Boisean's. It was so nice to just sleep in, nap, watch movies, and relax. More of Blake's family came up on Sunday night to join us for Memorial Day. The boys did a lot of work out in the yard and I just enjoyed myself while all of the cousins played. I was the only adult girl that ended up at the cabin; but I thoroughly enjoyed my time. The cabin is so relaxing, we need to make it up there more.

Enjoying the view of the lake from the dock

Allie "helping" me make crumb cake

Aunt Lilia and Natalia made a cute little bed for Cam and Allie so they could all watch "Bug's Life"

Trying out the new Kayak with dad. Allie thought this was pretty awesome. Don't worry all fellow nurses, we forgot Allie's life vest, and as you can see in the picture, we stayed right next to the sand embankment. I was a little freaked out to even let Allie do what she did, which is totally not me....but I didn't want any accidents happening.

Snip Snip....

Well, can you guess what happened today?

Someone cut the blonde lock's?

No worries, it was not Allie (although I'm sure that day will come). Today I took Allie over to a friend's house for a haircut...a cute A-line. I was getting sick of the scraggly hair that she had. It was so thin and stringy. Now her hair looks much thicker.

A shot of the back. Now I just need to find some type of gel to hold her curls. She has the best little ringlets when her hair is wet, but I can't get them to stay for the life of me...Does anyone have any suggestions?

Heatwave!

Boise went from winter to summer while forgetting spring. It cranked up to 95 on Saturday and this was quite a shock since we have been in the 60's and 70's. What else was there to do but to cool ourselves down. We had a fun filled day over at Grandma and Papa's house. Allie had fun jumping on the tramp with Aunt Lilia and Aunt Natalia. We tried out a variety of 3 different sprinklers under the tramp. Blake was knocking my $1 sprinkler from Target, but it turned out to be the favorite. Gotta love those $1 bins.

After the tramp, we jumped into the unheated pool which was a chilly 73 degrees but felt so good after getting used to it. It was a nice relaxing day and it couldn't have been topped off better without a delivery of Papa Johns Pizza for dinner...yummy. Thanks Grandma and Papa!

Memory lane...jumping on the tramp with the sprinkler underneath

Jump so high!

Allie loving the tramp with the sprinkler

Checking out the duck that was swimming in the pool. As fun as it was to have ducks in the pool, Allie quickly learned this was a no-no and we had to chase the ducks away

Allie insisted she wear the fish floating vest and the water wings

A refreshing dip in the pool....we couldn't figure out how to turn on the heater, but the 73 degree water felt so good

Of course....Allie's first time on the big swing and what does she do? This girl has to get as high as she can in whatever she does. Case in point as you view the picture below

Our little gymnast....following in the footsteps of Aunt Natalia and Aunt Lilia

All giggles!

Square Foot Gardening

Our garden! We have never had a garden since we have been married....and I have very vague memories about gardening as a kid, so pretty much I am a novice gardener. I went to an enrichment activity back in March and learned about a new way to garden-square foot. It's exactly what the name says. You build boxes, put in Mel's special soil mix, divide your box into 1x1 squares, and plant.

I'll keep you posted as things start to grow. I was working out in the yard today and noticed I have radishes sprouting :) There is nothing more rewarding than to see the fruits of your labor.
