Halloween

Happy Halloween!  Will was able to make his debut before my favorite holiday and I was able to make it home from the hospital to enjoy my most favorite holiday with these cute kiddos

Happy Halloween!!!

I look forward to Halloween night every year so we can make dinner in a pumpkin and have witches brew

My cute bugs ready to hit the streets.....ladybug, bumblebee, and a spider

Allie is ready to load her pillowcase with candy

One of our neighbors always puts an old scary car on their front lawn; the girls weren't to scared

After trick or treating we had fun playing with our left over dry ice

My little spider was tuckered out from the long night through the streets of our neighborhood

Will's Newborn Pics

I was so excited to get Will's newborn pics done.  I took Allie when she was too old so she wouldn't cooperate and Sophie was just a pill of a baby so I've never had any that I've loved.  So, I finally got it right on the third try.  Will was such a good sport about the whole shoot.  The photographer was done in 1 hour but since he was so cooperative she took a whole extra hour of pictures with him because she wanted to try different poses with new baskets she had purchased.  Thanks for making your pics stress free for your mama.  We sure love you buddy!

I had seen this pose before.  It took us a good 30 minutes to get Will positioned into this pose.  He is holding himself up all on his own.  According the photographer only chill babies are able to pull this pose off.  Props to you Will;  you passed the test

Will and his cute hat from Aunt Katie

During this photo shoot Will had a large blow out and pee fest all over the green blanket.  Good thing the blanket was big enough we just tucked in corners and hid all the evidence

I saw this cute idea on line

This was one of our "playing around" poses and it's one of my favorites!  I sure love this little guy to pieces!!!

2012 Pumpkins

We spent FHE carving our pumpkins.  Allie and Blake really got into the carving this year.  Sophie stood by just watching and didn't want anything to do with the pumpkin guts.

Allie getting ready to scoop out the guts

Sophie disgusted by the thought that I even asked her to touch the guts

Scooping out guts.....not sure why Sophie was running around naked here.  Maybe it was the fact that Will is 6 days old and we were in a fog

Dad cutting out the pumpkin face

I saw an idea on Pinterest....need I say more.  It was a simple idea of drilling holes all over the pumpkin so it looked like polka dots all over.  Love me some polka dots!

Allie decided she wanted to carve out our garden pumpkin

Dad had a great idea to turn it into the "Hansen" pumpkin

Safety Pin!

We have a problem lately with Sophie at bedtime; its actually a big problem that started back in August and now we are beyond frustrated.   The problem is that Sophie takes off her PJ's and diaper when we lay her to bed.  We first started to fix the problem by taping the diaper; we quickly moved through all types of tape and even used duck tape but were quickly outsmarted on all kinds.  The diaper would be off no matter what type of tape was used.  The next idea we had was to use a safety pin on the zippy PJ's and to only put Sophie in zippy PJ's.  This solution worked for a few weeks until one night we poked in to check on her and she was sitting naked in her crib.   We asked Sophie what she was doing and she replied, "playing with a pin,"  holding the pin in her hand for us to see.  The mangled and bent pin was sure enough in her hand; we thought maybe it was a fluke on our part and we didn't attach it right.  Sure enough, night after night the pin has come off.  We are SOOOOOOO sick of stripping the bed and washing the sheets daily and stripping you down for daily baths.   We aren't sure what step to take next to kick this habit....HELP!!!!

Will's Birth

My labor started out on Tuesday morning in a not so ideal situation.  Allie had been sick over the weekend with a horrific stomach bug.  I was very close to taking her into the ER which says how bad she was because I never like to take my kids to the Dr. let alone the ER.  Allie wouldn't move as she lay on the couch and complained of central abdominal pain that had moved to her right side by Sunday morning.  She said nothing sounded good to eat or drink and was so lethargic.  Usually after vomiting, which she only did once on Saturday evening, you feel like eating.  Allie wanted nothing to do with food and she could barely walk to the bathroom. Thankfully by Monday she was feeling better, but I had unfortunately gotten this horrible bug late into the night on Monday.  By Monday evening I had assumed Allie's spot on the couch and couldn't move because my stomach was in knots.  I didn't sleep very well through the night and either did Blake.  I woke up vomiting around 2 am and continued to vomit and dry heave the rest of the night.  The stomach cramps were horrible and around 7 am I could not stop dry heaving and I started contracting every 3-5 minutes.   I felt so awful and didn't want to be in labor.

Once we arrived to the hospital at 8:30 am they put me in triage.  When they checked me I was still a 3 and 60%.  The nurses and MD thought my body started to contract due to being so dehydrated..  They started an IV and began to pump in IV fluids and anti-emetics to stop me from feeling so nauseated.  The initial nausea meds weren't working so the they gave me something stronger which ended up knocking me out for a few hours.  Around 12:30 I was back awake, my stomach cramps were still there and I was feeling so horrible.  I was still at a 60% and 3 cm dilated and they began to give me Morphine to help with the stomach cramps.  They took off the monitors because I was rolling around in the bed in so much pain.  At 2 pm they gave me another dose of Morphine and started to get discharge paperwork ready because my contractions had slowed down and I was still at a 3.  The transport person came to escort me out to the car at 3:30 and I insisted I wasn't leaving.  I wasn't sure how I was going to manage at home and didn't want to get home and have to turn around and come all the way back.  I felt like I had truly started into labor at this point and wanted to the nurse to check me one last time. Sure enough I knew I was right and I was at 6 cm....I was getting admitted and little William was getting ready to make his debut.  As tired and exhausted as I was I just wanted everything to be over.   After getting me transferred into my delivery room I got my epidural and was at 9 cm at 5 pm.  I thought for sure this little guy would be flying right out.  Well 6 and 7 p.m. quickly passed and I was stuck at a 9.  Finally at 7:45 I reached a 10 and it took a couple pushes for Will to make his arrival at 8:05 pm

Our little man weighed in at 7 lbs 15 oz. and measured 21.5 inches

This sweet baby was born with a head of dark hair just like Sophie

The girls came up that night to meet little Will.  It's always a hard time for Allie to be away from us.  Allie always wants to stay with us and the new baby at the hospital.

The next day everyone was feeling a little better

Allie is always such an amazing little helper with the babies.  She doesn't hesitate to step in and help out when she sees the need.

Our famous picture, Blake on the inside getting our reactions from the outside during the 1st bath....Allie loves to watch the babies get their first bath.

Will was not to excited about being all wet

Big sis!

Who wants to place bets that the cow becomes Will's favorite animal:)  The pig in Sophie's newborn photos became her "oinky" and she is inseparable from this pig

Library Days

I look forward to Friday library days probably just as much as Allie does.  Every since school has started she comes home with a book in her backpack for her little sister.  I think it's the sweetest thing ever because the books are random books like you see in this picture, I can count the petals of a Flower.  Each of Allie's choices teach basic concepts that Sophie is trying to learn like counting and colors but aren't toddler books at all.  Allie, thanks for always thinking of your little sister and her needs.  We love you and you're such a good example for your little sister.

Boise Temple Dedication

We are so lucky to have our Boise Idaho temple reopening.  It has been closed for nearly 18 months as it has undergone renovations and remodeling.  We were able to take family,  friends, and our own little family through the open house which was a great experience for all of us.  It was so much fun to show Allie the bride's room and the celestial room.  She loved the mirrors in the sealing room that showed her a glimpse of forever.  I hope she was able to gain a testimony of the importance of the temple each time we were able to reenter through those doors.

It couldn't have been a more beautiful day the first time we took the girls;  the fall trees full of color and the cool crisp air

My beautiful girls!  I expect to see them back in a number of years as they get to reenter the temple at age 12.  I'm so grateful for the experience we had to take them inside and look forward to the dedication of the Meridian temple in a number of years.  The more times we can expose these sweet spirits to the spirit in the temple the better

Bruneau Sand Dunes Camp Out

Our favorite neighbors, the Fosters, moved over to Twin Falls in July.  Allie and Jay used to play with each other every day and it was a sad day when they were gone.  In September, Jay and Allie were missing each other so the dad's planned an overnight camping trip for the kids.  The half way point in between Boise and Twin happened to be Bruneau Sand Dunes.

Friday night they went hiking on the little dunes and set up camp

Jay and Allie enjoying breakfast

Saturday morning the crew went and hiked the big dunes.  Jay brought his sled so they could enjoy flying down the dunes

Allie on her way up to the top

I love the sand imprints that were made as they hiked through the sand
