Easter

We had the best weather during Easter weekend.  We were outside almost all weekend so it made for such a nice weekend.

Our neighborhood put on our 1st Beat the Bunny Race.  My friend Cherie was the bunny and the kids that beat her got a special prize as they crossed the finish line

Allie competed in the group of kids that were 2nd grade and under and WON!  I couldn't believe this girl and her long stride around the track.  She passed up boys, girls and beat the bunny!

Sophie ran part of the race with Blake.  She came screaming through the finish line because Blake wouldn't let her stop running.  I guess we start our kids running at a young age

Allie, the bunny and a few of Allie's pals in the neighborhood

We headed out to Papa Von's for an egg hunt Saturday afternoon

Papa and Grandma spoiled the kids and got them each a basket, some goodies and hid over 100 eggs across the backyard

Sophie had a blast finding all the hidden eggs

The girls with their loot

The Easter bunny arrived on Sunday morning and brought a few things for everyone

Easter outfits-I love to coordinate and match everyone!
Easter is one of my favorite Holidays.  I love that it's springtime, it's sunny, and I love the week that leads up to Easter and the time we get to celebrate our Savior.  Happy Easter

ER Visit

My day started out making myself an appointment to go into the Dr. after feeling like crap for over a week.  After breakfast we headed to my Dr. and once we arrived and went to unbuckle Sophie I was shocked at what she was covered in

Sophie's legs were covered in hives.  At least Sophie had great timing; we would have the Dr. check her out too

We stripped Sophie down as we waited for my Dr.  We watched as the hives spread up her back and onto her arms.  The Dr. was my primary care Dr. and since he wasn't the girl's Dr. he just advised me what we should do and what we should watch for.  We did just as he suggested; went home and gave Benedryl and thought everything was fine.  Around 5 pm, the rash was back and this time it was spreading up onto Sophie's face and lips.  Sophie wasn't having a hard time breathing but it worried us that it would head that way.  We loaded up and took her to an urgent care clinic and just as soon as we walked in the door the Dr. shuffled us right back out the door to the ER.

The rash was back with a vengeance....Sophie was covered head to toe in hives and miserable

Sophie was such a trooper.  She earned herself a purple bear and stickers for doing such a great job

Sophie ended up getting two shots of Epinephrine due to the 1st shot not clearing everything up like it needed to

Sophie earned herself many popsicles.   The Dr. told us that Sophie had either a food allergy reaction or a viral rash.  We were leaning towards thinking it was a viral rash because the only thing Sophie had to eat prior to her outbreak was a Nutrigrain Bar which she had eaten many times before.  A viral rash like this is very uncommon which fits Sophie well; she get's everything uncommon!

Between Sophie and myself we turned my kitchen into a med station!

5 Months Old

I really can't believe my little man is 5 months old already.  I have enjoyed this baby soooo much!!!  Will is my snuggler; and I thought Allie was my ultimate snuggler.  My favorite thing is that you love to be wrapped up tight for naps and bedtime but you don't like to be left in your crib (I know this habit will probably kill me later).  As soon as you are bundled and screaming, I pick you up and rock you while you suck on your binky; within minutes you are out.   I just love the fact you love to be rocked to sleep!

One of my favorite baby phases is when they discover their toes....it has happened for Will

You have also discovered Max and love when he comes around and likewise Max comes around you a lot lately too

On your 5 month birthday (on the exact day) you started rolling from your back onto your tummy.  I also introduced you to rice cereal this month but quickly switched you to oatmeal because you became so constipated.  You absolutely LOVE to eat!!!  You must be a boy.  You scream when your food is gone.  You discovered your voice over the last few weeks and literally scream like a girl; it must be because you are surrounded by them all day.

Seriously I thought my cute girls stole my heart, but this little man melts my heart.  I love this sweet baby so much!!!

Winter Gymnastics

The girls both took a term of gymnastics this winter.  We end up with a lot of built up energy during the cold winter months this year and gymnastics was a good fit for my kids to burn off some energy

I finally got pictures of them on their last day of class

We ALL go crazy if we are in the house too long

Sophie perfecting her "table top"

Sophie's absolute favorite things about gymnastics is the beam.  She proudly walks across the thing without missing a step

Mrs. Shayna helping Sophie with her forward roll

Sophie getting awarded her certificate and ribbon.  We love Mrs. Shayna and will miss her

Allie's class combined with another class to start out their final show

Saluting to the parents

Allie presenting her routine....she started off on floor exercises and moved right into her tramp tricks

Allie was working really hard on a backward flipping thing on the bar (I don't know gymnastics terms).  She almost had it on her own by the end

Proudly getting awarded her ribbon

My little monkey's favorite place to go during free time....up the rope

Sophie's favorite thing about her class; the goodbye song and getting her stamps on all 4 extremities.
Thanks Tumble Time, we will be back next winter.

Moab

Allie started a 3 week track break at school and during her first week off we made our way down to Southern Utah.  Blake was running the Canyonlads half marathon in Moab so we headed down to support him and play in Arches National Park.  On our way down to Moab we stopped off in Highland to watch our cute niece perform in her school play-Wizard of Oz.  We crashed at Blake's brother's house our first night and made our way down to Moab the next morning.

Jane staring as tin-man

The main casting crew- I seriously couldn't believe these kids were 5th and 6th graders.  They did an amazing job!!!

Jane and Allie

Thursday afternoon we arrived in Moab and made our way into Arches National Park.

Blake and Allie with Balance Rock in the background

Blake and Allie made their way up to the North and South Window.   I stayed back with the little ones who were asleep in the car!

Allie under North Window Arch

Our friends the Galloways finally arrived late Thursday night; Friday morning we headed up to Slickrock.  The kids that were able to rode the 2 mile practice course

Blake took Allie on the course and according to Blake she did awesome

We headed back to the condo to grab lunch and re-energize.  Later on we came back to Slickrock to ride some more

We went climbing with the younger kids during the afternoon while the older kids rode bikes

Saturday the big day had arrived....Canyonlads Half Marathon

The kids cheered everyone on anticipating the arrival of their dads.  They kept looking at the shoes of the runners waiting to see green shoes for Blake and bright color orange for Jason

We finally saw Blake come by at 1:45.  Considering Blake didn't train a day for the marathon he did awesome

Blake felt like crap after the race and laid on the ground for quite some time.  Sophie couldn't figure out what he was doing and why he wouldn't get up

After the boys had recovered we headed back into Arches

Sophie making her way into Sandunes Arch

There was a place you could scale the wall to get on top of Sandunes Arch....Allie of course wanted to head up with the big kids and dads

The girls loved playing in the sand and Sophie enjoyed making Sand Angels

After the sand dunes we hiked into Landscape Arch

The final stop was Double Arch.  What a fun time we had warming up in Moab!
