3 ear infections in 4 weeks

The life for the past 4 weeks.....chillin' in her chair watching Elmo. Over the past month we have had many numerous nights awake with Allie, almost nightly if I would have to put a finger on it. This definitely isn't my girl; Allie is a great sleeper, so I knew something was up. We went to the Dr.'s mid-January and sure enough-double ear infection. Not even 2 weeks later...back again....double ear infection. Well we just finished a 10 day coarse of antibiotics yesterday, but Allie has still been having rough nights, a runny nose, and pulling at her ears. I dug out my otoscope from nursing school just to have a look before we went yet again back to the Dr.'s. To the limited knowledge I have with ears, they were red! Back to the Dr. today and double ear infection. We are started Allie's 3rd antibiotic and if this doesn't seem to do the trick off we go to the ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) Dr. Allie's pediatrician isn't sure if this is the same infection that just isn't clearing up, or if Allie is catching different viruses causing the recurrent infections. We'll definitely keep you all posted.

Cabin Fever

Well we have returned....Allie and I have frequented the cabin over the last 2 weeks due to Blake being up in McCall for work. Lucky us! We finally got to play with Dad and have some fun at the end of the two weeks. The Givens came up at the tail end of our "vacation" and we had a great time. Allie got her first ride on the snowmobile with Dad and loved it! We took Allie and Cam sledding behind the snowmobile and they just layed there saying "more more." We tried out our new stroller with skies and headed out cross county skiing across the lake. Once again all we heard from the two kids was "more more." Allie actually loved it so much she fell asleep on our outing. Allie and Cam are the best of buds and have so much fun just doing there own thing lately. The picture of the nude-two-some climbing on the TV stand was "in-sinc" and not arranged; I was surprised I actually caught it on camera. We had a great time, but are glad to be home and back on more of a schedule.

Pudding Painting

Well, we have had quite the dumping of snow lately. One morning, we woke up and didn't want to venture out onto the roads, so I thought about something new we could do around the house???
Allie has really been into coloring lately and since I didn't have any paint, we decided to do some painting (or eating) with pudding. At first she was a little hesitant about this activity (see my pictures in sequence) and then she dipped her fingers into the pudding. I was actually painting with my pudding trying to show Allie what to do. But of course for this kid, everything goes into the mouth. Once that happened, the painting was over and Allie was all over this activity....yum yum!!!

NA NA NA NA NA NA NA--Cat Woman--

NA NA NA NA NA NA NA-CATWOMAN! Well Allie's new found love from her Christmas toys is Mr. Potatoe Head. She loves putting all the pieces of his face into the holes; they are not in the right spots a good majority of the time, but who cares about an eye in the mouth. Well, Allie took Mr. Potato Head to a new level and decided to try out the parts on her own body, hence the glasses!

Don't they fit just right mom?

Christmas Eve-SNOW

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve Day. We woke up to a morning of snow and it continued throughout the day. We had fun shoveling the drive way and then Allie helped us make her first snowman. By the end of our 1 hour adventure Allie was done for.......as you can see in the last photo.

Later that evening, we continued our tradition that Blake and I started a couple of years ago...Chinease Dinner. We went out to eat, which we have done before, but not with a hungry 15 month old and a very crowded restaurant. I think next year we may be doing take out. We came home and got to open up none other than Christmas PJ's.

Why not put snow in my mouth since everything else goes in my mouth?

This was our attempt with our self-timer on the camera. At least you can see our snowman:)
