Memorial Day-Burgdorf Hot Springs

We decided to spend our rainy Memorial Day up at the cabin.  Once we were up there, we decided we needed to go on a drive.  Our family loves to go out exploring new places and looking for wild life while enjoying a long drive.  There are many perks to a long drive; Allie usually gets in a nap, Blake and I get to chat and catch up, and we usually get lucky enough to spot wild life.  We decided we were going to attempt to get up to Bergdorf Hot Springs which is North-East of McCall.  We weren't sure if the roads would be open due to the cooler spring weather but we were going to try.

We started out the drive with large snow drifts on the sides of the roads; seriously it's May

We finally made it up to this quaint hot springs.  I was a little hesitant of my surroundings at first; it was a little shambled of a place,  but once we got out and into the hot springs Bergdorf grew on me and I was loving it

The hot spring is out in the middle of a meadow and it is just beautiful.  The owner said that deer, elk, and moose frequent the area.  It rained and poured on us the entire time we were swimming but it was so nice feeling the cool rain on my face while soaking in the hot pool

I didn't realize that you can actually rent out cabins up at Bergdorf.  This is now on our list to do.  It would be so fun to come up to a wood burning stove cabin for the weekend and to watch all the wildlife and enjoy the peaceful meadow and hot springs

After swimming at Bergdorf for a few hours we decided to head up the road to Warren, Idaho.  Blake and I had never been there and we wanted to check it out.   WOW...The welcoming sign says, "Heavy fine for killing cats, dogs, kids, adults, or even old timers."  WELCOME!!!

I was shocked to find that 1) People live in these type of conditions.  The houses were so run down and this town was like Little House On The Prairy 2) People enjoy living way out here.  3) People enjoy dressing like Little House on The Prairy with their bonnets and dresses.

I was grateful to be leaving this little town and grateful for all my blessings as we drove home

I couldn't leave without getting a shot of the post office

Like always, we were able to spot a herd of elk on our way back.  A road trip is never complete for me without spotting some wild life.  It makes the trip for me:)

Allie Visits Dr. Carter

Allie had her first real "check-up" at the dentist.  We have been previously to count her teeth, but weren't successful at getting in a cleaning.  Well a few months of maturity and this girl was ready to be in the big chair to get her teeth cleaned.  Allie was following Blake and she kept telling him to hurry up so she could get in the chair and have her turn.

Allie up in the big chair.  The dentist gave her some sunglasses to wear during the exam to help block the light that was shining in on her teeth

Getting those "sugar bugs" out

Allie would not shut her mouth during the entire cleaning.  Even when there was a break, she kept her mouth wide open, ready for anyone to do some work

Girl's Night with Mom

Allie and I enjoyed a girls night together while Blake headed out to go over night camping with the scouts.  I had heard about a new little shop for kids to get their hair cut, so I decided we'd check it out. Allie's hair hadn't been trimmed for well over a year and a half;  those straggly ends needed to be cut off.

One last morning of a fun do with the long scraggly hair

The cute hair shop-2 Be A Kid- that we got to visit.  It looked like so much fun before we even went inside

Allie first got to get her hair washed in the salon sink

While her hair was up and drying we got to go get her nails painted....what a treat because we don't get to painting the finger nails to often at our house. Of course she choose the color pink, followed by sparkles as her top coat.

Allie was just soaking up all the attention.  She just loved getting pampered for the night

Following her nails getting painted,  Allie got to take a to take a tour and choose where she wanted to be for her hair cut.  There were lots of animals and the two cars you could pick from, and of course Allie choose the purple car.

Dawning the apron to get her hair cut

Allie outside after her hair cut.  She got her hair styled and glittered for the finale of her "spa day."  If you think about how much this little girl felt like a princess for an hour, it was well worth our $15 for a fun night out with mom.  I highly recommend this cute little shop.  We will definitely be coming back for some more pampering.

Preschool Graduation 2010

One of our sweet preschool teachers Bethany, decided to put on a little preschool graduation for the kids to make the end of the year official.  Allie was very excited about graduating preschool, although we still have one more year of official preschool to go before entering the "big kid school."

Here is a flashback of Allie on the first day of school

Fast forward to the last day of school.  I think we have grown a few inches in height and lost of little bit of baby fat.

At our graduation party we enjoyed a delicious lunch and some yummy "graduation" treats, which were too cute I just had to snap a picture

It's official, certificates and all- Sam, Brooke, Bailey and Allie. Congrats graduates!!!
