Monkey Around

We checked out a great new indoor play area today-Monkey Buziness.  We had been to one of these inflatable places in Washington up at my sisters so I was excited to find one here locally.  A little pricy for regular priced admission, so luckily I found a 1/2 off coupon so we could check this place out.  Allie had a great time running around and burning off some energy during our 2 1/2 hour stay.

The slide was one of my favorites up in WA so I was excited to see that there was a slide here as well.  What a slide...it is so steep and almost scary to just look at it.  We decided to venture up and give it a try.

What a ride!  Because this slide is so steep and there isn't much landing room, you slam into the wall at the bottom.  It sounds a lot more painful than it really ends up being.  Definitly worth doing over. Allie braved it up the slide by herself by the end of our morning

There was a fun little jungle gym that you could climb all over in.  Once you figured out how to get into the middle there was a fun little swing

There was also a slide inside the jungle gym area

Owen quite enjoyed this bounce house.   There were balls, a little hoop, and a smaller slide

There was also an obstacle course area which is also one of my favorites.  Kelly and I had a great time beating up our children in here and they loved it.   You'll have to go check it out to see what I mean

Allie enjoying her safe place inside the obstacle course-the tunnel

Kelly and I looked over and saw these two attempting to play air hockey.  It was too cute I couldn't pass up a picture.

Excitement with Chores!!!

I love how Allie gets so excited about her kitchen chore-unloading the silverwear.  She is so thrilled when she gets to put away the silverwear and find the matches.  I hope this enthusiasm stays around for awhile.  I need to find some more chores to unload upon this kid.  She is such a great helper!

Allie does a great job at finding those matches; it doesn't always look the neatest, but I'll get over it

$3.50 got me WHAT???

Well, it's been a long time since I have found something new that Allie has been able to spend hours playing with.  I went to my favorite childrens sale last weekend and happened upon this kitchen.   Blake and I had talked about getting Allie a kitchen in the past, but honestly where would we put it?  There is always room right???  Blake about had my head when he found out that I had purchased this, but then he found out how much I paid $3.50, and how much Allie has been in love playing kitchen.  It's been kind of rainy weather and not the best for spending hours outside so she literally has played with this for hours.

It's amazing that play food is much more fun when there is a kitchen to use it with

We have been enjoying all sorts of yummy creations from Allie.  Our favorite is when she puts our icecream in a pot on the stove and we get to have melted icecream.  YUMM!!

Garden Greenhouses

Well we are off and growing!  We got things planted out in our Square Foot Garden a couple weeks ago.  With the creativity and hard work of Blake and my brother-in-law, we have the green houses complete.  We have some vents that open up on the sides for these hot days, and then they can be all enclosed for the cooler days and nights to keep things growing and protect from frost.  We are excited to get a jump start on things this year.  We'll see if we can enjoy our crop a little longer.  It's just one big experiment so we'll cross our fingers it works.

It's hot and getting hotter!

We have been enjoying some spring weather these past few days. It is supposed to continue for the next few days hiking it's way into the 80 degree range. Allie has been staying cool with fudgsicles. Yummy! I haven't taken pictures in so long, I can't believe how old Allie looks in pictures and how long her hair is getting. I don't know why things look so different in pictures and why I don't realize these things right before my eyes.

I guess it's been so long since I have taken pictures that when I told Allie to smile, she did!

Easter has come and gone!

We had a great Easter weekend. We made it out to an Easter Egg Hunt with Allie's friends Owen and Macy. I think the economic recession had an impact on our egg hunt. There was a lot of eggs with a majority of them being filled with little toys. The only candy was the tootsie rolls they just threw all over the grass. Who needs a lot of candy anyways...just mom who was a little disappointed that there wasn't any chocolate.

Allie and Owen didn't need any pointers on what needed to be done

Allie wasn't to interested in the tootsie rolls laying all around...she just wanted eggs

I couldn't get these two to look up at me; they were to interested in there baskets

After the egg hunt we came back home to do our annual sugar cookie decorating and easter egg dying. Allie really got into things this year. She just loved helping me roll out the dough, cut out the cookies, frost the cookies, and of course eat the cookies. I don't think much dinner was had this night due to a belly full of cookies. We enjoyed dessert first.

In the midst of rolling out the cookie dough and cutting out our shapes. Allie became covered in flour (check out her face of flour)

We invited a few friends over for our cookie and egg party

Allie in her Easter dress. I was so excited that I found this dress...I traveled many miles to find this. Allie was excited that the bunny came and left her Hi-Ho-Cherio. She just loves this game right now.

I made my first carrot cake for our Easter Dinner dessert. It's our new tradition. It was so yummy and I learned that this cake is my husband and dad's favorite cake. Why have I never known this or made this before?
