Happy Birthday!!!

Well the it was the big 26th birthday party for Kim!!! It was great fun-we actually had a little party on my real birthday which was Saturday. My Dad and Deborah came over and brought KFC for dinner and they also brought angel food cake for my birthday cake with yummy strawberries. That was so sweet:)

Yummy Angel Food Cake

Ready to blow out the candles ( If you are all wondering why I am still in my pajamas at 5 p.m. , don't ask. Blake and I were asked to give talks at church, we procrastinated, and we bummed around the house writing our talks all day Saturday. What a great birthday, I know)

On Sunday we had all the family over. That's one nice thing about having everyone in the same city. When I was standing in the kitchen blowing out my candles I was very appreciative of all the family support we have, it seems like everyone tries to make it to family functions. I love all our family! Blake had boughten 2 TCBY ice cream cakes, which were delicious and we had a family get together. The cousins and sister-in-laws had a fun time playing together!
We had my favorite-Mint Chocolate Chip and a Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Cake

Lilia and Natalia with their niece and nephew. They are so good with the babies!

Allie found Gramp's Hat which she loves and decided to wear it around for awhile.

11 Month Old Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLIE! I know I'm a dork because it's only Allie's 11 month birthday, but we're getting close to the big 1. Can you tell that I have only 1 child, I am counting down to the big 1. Anyways here are a few snapshots from the girls big day!

What wrong with sitting in my toy basket mom?

First taste of real corn on the cob!

Allie loves balls and in fact it was her first word, that's right Allie started saying it when her cousins Adam and Ainsley were here. I forgot to post about it when it happened.

Rub A Dub-Two Babes in the Tub

We love when we get to babysit cousin Cameron. Allie and Cameron have such a great time together. As you can see, they love to do everything together; including baths. If we put Allie into the bathtub, Cameron is sure to follow right in; whether dressed in his clothes or not. Tonight I was quick and got his clothes off before he went head over into the tub.

Allie loves to take Cameron too the ground; and believe me she really does. Tonight Cameron took advantage of Allie's vulnerability while she was lying on the carpet. Allie thought it was hilarious.

Quote of the Day

"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." -Elizabeth Stone

I found this on my friend Liz's blog site and love it. Thanks Liz

Blueberry Pancakes

Well I thought that blueberry pancakes weren't going to be such a bad idea for breakfast; something new for Allie to try. I thought Allie would just eat the pancake and we'd clean up breakfast and move on with our day. Well, I was wrong. Apparently she just wanted to paint her face with blueberry's and add a bath to our morning routine. Kids are so unpredictable, that's why I love Allie!

MOVE THAT BUS!!!

Extreme Makeover Home Edition came to Middleton, Idaho- a 20 minute drive from Boise. I love this show and was so excited when I found out they were here. I really wanted to help cheer the family home and yell "move that bus," (for those who have seen the show, you know what I am talking about) but decided since it is supposed to get to 101 today that I wouldn't drag Allie out to Middleton. So instead, last night my in-laws, Blake, me, and sleeping Allie decided to be sporadic and head out to the finished house at 10:30 pm. I got to see Ty Pennington through a window! He was inside the house coordinating the moving in of the furniture.

I wish I would have known about the show coming earlier so I could have helped volunteer. Extreme Makeover Home Edition said they have never been to a city with so many volunteers. The first day they said they needed 2000 people and they got 3000 volunteers that showed; they had to turn people away. Anyways, here is a link about the family. http://www.cbhhomes.com/extreme-makeover/family/ The show is supposed to air sometime in October; (it's on Sunday nights on ABC) they have said probably the 14th of October. Make sure you have a box of tissues to watch the show :)

Fourth Of July

Happy Fourth Of July!!!

We are having a great time! My sister Lara from Seattle is in town with her two kids Adam and Ainsley. Derek is back in Seattle moving the family into a new house (that sounds like a great way to move :), although Lara boxed up the entire house solo with kids) Allie is having a great time with the cousins; although she is a little leery every time Adam comes close to her. We have been quite busy since they came to town, jam packing our days full.

We started off the fourth with a movie for the kids; Allie's 1st movie theater experience. We went and saw Happy Feet which Allie ended up mostly sleeping through. We decided to brave the 105 degree temperature and went to the 4th of July Parade in downtown Boise. It was a great parade; lots of candy, popcycles, and a hose down from the local fire department.

My dad also turned 60 on the 5th, so we had quite the bash for him. We had a BBQ at his new house on his new grill. We turned on the sprinkler in the backyard, which entertained the kids and kept them cool in the 107 degree weather. We thought it would also be fun to float the river with everyone in town; so on Friday we brought over our babysitter and went down the Boise river. I hadn't done that for years and forgot how fun it is!!!

I walked to the fridge and came back to this; a baby on the dishwasher. She is quick!

Patty Cake

So, I really didn't think Allie understood too much at this age but she proved me wrong. One day she started to clap her hands during patty cake. A week later we got the beginning and end of patty cake down. Before I knew it I started to say "Patty Cake" and she did all the hand motions on her own (The "rolling" is a little tricky, but she's getting it down). Let's just say I was shocked! So here is a video clip of Allie showing off Patty Cake (Don't mind the goofy voice in the background. All of us mothers know we have to be dorky for our kids to love us)
