ER Visit

My day started out making myself an appointment to go into the Dr. after feeling like crap for over a week.  After breakfast we headed to my Dr. and once we arrived and went to unbuckle Sophie I was shocked at what she was covered in

Sophie's legs were covered in hives.  At least Sophie had great timing; we would have the Dr. check her out too

We stripped Sophie down as we waited for my Dr.  We watched as the hives spread up her back and onto her arms.  The Dr. was my primary care Dr. and since he wasn't the girl's Dr. he just advised me what we should do and what we should watch for.  We did just as he suggested; went home and gave Benedryl and thought everything was fine.  Around 5 pm, the rash was back and this time it was spreading up onto Sophie's face and lips.  Sophie wasn't having a hard time breathing but it worried us that it would head that way.  We loaded up and took her to an urgent care clinic and just as soon as we walked in the door the Dr. shuffled us right back out the door to the ER.

The rash was back with a vengeance....Sophie was covered head to toe in hives and miserable

Sophie was such a trooper.  She earned herself a purple bear and stickers for doing such a great job

Sophie ended up getting two shots of Epinephrine due to the 1st shot not clearing everything up like it needed to

Sophie earned herself many popsicles.   The Dr. told us that Sophie had either a food allergy reaction or a viral rash.  We were leaning towards thinking it was a viral rash because the only thing Sophie had to eat prior to her outbreak was a Nutrigrain Bar which she had eaten many times before.  A viral rash like this is very uncommon which fits Sophie well; she get's everything uncommon!

Between Sophie and myself we turned my kitchen into a med station!
