Naughty Girl

Here is a picture of Allie's room without her toys

Curious to why all of the toys are gone?

And why they are ALL in Blake and I's room.  Well in Allie's own words she would tell you she was being naughty.  I guess that pretty much sums it up.  Everyone has told me that age 3 is worse than age 2 and I can testify.  Allie is such a great kid but lately has an ATTITUDE.  I don't think that gets across how tough she has been.  She out of no where started snapping "No" at me, biting, kicking, and hitting.  I was in shock and didn't know where this behavior had all come from.   Seriously, it was time to nip this behavior. The behavior lasted for about a week until all her toys were gone and we told her she needed to shape up and be nice and do extra chores if she wanted to slowly earn toys back.  Well this week has been great.  Allie has been listening, helping out with extra chores, saying I love you, and giving big hugs.  The toys are slowly making their way back, but I still have a nice stash in my room.  (Sorry to all her preschool friends that didn't have toys to play with)  Please tell me age 4 holds something better :)

Allie's February Quotes

Allie: I think I need a bigger rock (referring to her prayer rock)
Kim: Why
Allie: Cause when I lay down I don't feel it bonk my head

" I chewed and chewed and chewed (breathe), I chewed and chewed and chewed (breather), and then I swallowed my gum

As I was packing my cooler for work, Allie chimes in "Mom that's a lot of food in your bag. Your going to have a big belly."   The next morning Allie wakes up and the first thing she asks is , "Mom, can I see your big belly"

2-12-10-Allie figured out how to load her computer games today.  I was prepping food for work and it was really quite downstairs.  As I went upstairs to see why it was so quiet I found Allie on the computer playing away.  I asked her how she got into her game and she said, "I just clicked on the house mom."  DUH

Peanut Butter Playdough

Seriously,  I did not know that 1 c. peanut butter, 1/2 cup honey, and 2 c. powdered sugar could be so entertaining.  What does this make you ask:  Peanut Butter Playdough.  It was so entertaining that these two kids not only played with it for 2 hours, they also devoured about half the playdough.

Owen and Allie hard at work.....this was just the start of their creations.  I was busy at work prepping food in the kitchen and didn't know such creative juices were flowing in their little brains

First up:  The Cat, by Allie.  I just love this little cat.  The lower blob on the right hand side is the tail.  So cute!

Owen decided to get busy as well and he created a "tiger" with some stripes

Allie made a nest with little eggs on it.  I told Allie I was very impressed with her skills.  She then kept asking me, "Mom your impressed with me?"  She was gleaming that I kept telling her that.

We had quite the animal theme going on.....Owen made a snake

My favorite....the people, made by Allie.  I just loved these little guys and the long skinny legs.  She created a boy and a girl figure.  The girl is the figure to the right because Allie placed a bow on her head and some long hair flowing down and around

The final figure of the morning was the Dr.  Allie has added arms to the people.  Way to go kids!  Love the creative juices that were flowing today!

Cabin Fever

We just can't get enough!  We just can't get enough!  We had another open weekend and headed back to the cabin for some more fun with the Givens and Rawlings Families.  We headed over to the hot springs on Friday afternoon.  It was so fun because it was snowing a majority of the time we were there.  I love having my body submerged in the warm water with the cold snow falling across my face.  Nothing is as relaxing as being up in the mountains, in the water, with the snow falling down around.

Allie enjoying a chunk of ice.  It almost looks as though this chunk of ice stuck was stuck to her lip, but it wasn't.

After swimming we headed back to the cabin to enjoy the opening ceremonies of the Winter 2010 Olympics.  The kids had a blast goofing around with each other.

On Saturday morning the dad's headed off with the kids to do some sledding.  The dad's ended up finding this great sledding hill across the lake that was a blast to go down.  I'm not as daring as I used to be so it freaked me out just a little because it was a really big hill.

Everyone hiking to the top.  There were actually two different spots you could go down the hill from.  One was about 1/2 way up and the other was all the way to the top.  For some reason the top seemed like quite a ways up compared to the middle point.

Allie hitching a ride down the hill with dad

After the sledding hill we did some sledding behind the snow mobiles.  It was so much fun!  Holly trying out some stomach sledding.....as you can see she is the only one left.  It was a very difficult way to sled.

Allie and Daddy getting ready to go down the sledding hill at the cabin

Okay, hands down this was the funnest part of the day.  Couples sledding!  It was hilarious to try to fit both our rears into the tiny sled and hang on as we were whipped around.  Half the time a leg, a butt cheek, or some other body part was hanging outside of the sled and we couldn't stop laughing.  Here's to another great weekend at the cabin!

Goody's Ice Cream Reward

Allie is one determined child.  When something is put in front of her, she goes for it without looking back.  She doesn't stop until she get's whatever it is she is working towards.  So here was the habit we were trying to break:  Allie crawling into our bed every night around 4 or 5 a.m.  What to do about this problem?  Sticker Chart!!!  Allie loves these.  I don't know why I didn't come up with the idea earlier.  So the deal was that Allie had to sleep in her bed for 10 consecutive nights in order to earn this reward.  Well aren't we dumb parents; she had this down the first night.  I didn't realize the impact having her in my bed every morning for just a few hours had on me.  The first night I had the best sleep ever!   So needless to say Allie immediately took to our challenge and slept in her bed for 10 nights and on day 11 we got to go get ice cream.

Checking out the pink ice cream-what more could she want

It disappeared pretty fast

Allie requested that Papa and Grandma come to celebrate in this event with her; who could pass up the invitation from a 3 year old

Papa bought her a new special teddy for Allie to sleep with at night.
Great Job Allie!!!  You are so driven and determined, you continue to inspire me at such a young age.
