How is it that my little 4 year old can say that she has done a triathlon and neither of her parents have. We had heard about the Splash, Pedal, and Dash last summer and wanted to try it out this summer. It was a 3/4 mile bike around the speedway track, a 1/3 mile run, and the swim was a slide down the giant water slide.
This was intense for a little kids race. They marked both of their arms and one of their calves so that they could tell which number was crossing the finish line. Still confused why they couldn't look at the kids race bibs, but I guess it makes them look tuff
Cousins Cam and Brynn joined in on the fun
Cam and Allie showing off their numbers....go #23 and #21
When we first got to the race and checked in they tattooed the kids arms and checked over their bikes. All the tires got blown up to maximum capacity so they were ready to race
Allie is lined up with the 5-6 year olds. She wanted to race with the older group since she is just shy of being 5!
On your mark.....get set.....GO!!!
On the speedway cruising around, we've done this once before but it was with training wheels.
Off to a sprint. Blake ran beside Allie during the run with Sophie and the video camera in tow
Crossing through the finish line and racing to get to the water slide
Helping Allie transition into her swimsuit...I accidentally pinned her bib number through her suit so we couldn't just whip off the tank:)
The finale down the water slide
All that hard work paid off for a medal, ice cream, and a cookie. Way to go girl!!! I am so proud of you. You put all your effort into this little race and we didn't hear a single complaint from you the whole time. Hope you enjoy that feeling of accomplishment after working so hard. You did GREAT!!!
