Yellowstone Adentures-Final Day-Yellowstone Falls

The final day of our vacation we headed back into Yellowstone Park.  We ended up going to the Lower Falls in Canyon Village, down through Hayden Valley and continuing down to the Lake.

We started off by saying farewell to the Givens clan who had to leave early-one more cousin pic

We made our way 3/8 of a mile down to the top of the Lower Falls.

It was well worth the hike.  We were literally on top of the falls when we stood on the lower deck (seen in the picture below) and it almost made me sick-which says a ton.  If the deck would have collapsed we would have been going down the falls

A view down the canyon from the upper deck

Next stop was the Mud Volcano, which is one of my favorites

We took the 1 mile loop around the boardwalk to check out all the bubbly, bubbly

The Dragon's Mouth I believe was the name of this one

We ran into a few more buffalo driving through Hayden Valley

After arriving back to the cabin and eating some dinner we headed out to fish one last time

We hiked down a canyon to the river and this beautiful fishing spot

Sophie made it down so she could enjoy relaxing with us

Warren really loved fishing-he was so patient which is hard to be when you are little

Such awesome scenery.  I LOVE Idaho!!!

Well unfortunately the trip had to come to an end.  We headed back home Sunday morning and made a stop for some lunch in Arco, Idaho.  Fortunately every place in the county is closed except for Pickle's Place so we got to stop and enjoy lunch

After filling up with lunch we jumped over to Crater's of The Moon.  I can't believe I am a native Idahoan who has never been to Crater's of the Moon.  The only downfall to going here was my camera batteries were dead so all pictures were taken off the I-Phone

I was thrilled to learn there were caves to explore

We grabbed flashlights, strapped Sophie on and were ready for spelunking.  So many fond memories of caving at Rick's College and so glad to be at it again with kids; only difference is a little bit more anxiety now

There were three caves that we went and explored-Blake's Beauty's by the Beauty cave.  Definitely want to hit up Crater's of the Moon again and explore some more.  It was a great ending to a wonderful vacation!
