After spending two days in Yellowstone Park, we thought we'd take a day off and stay in Island Park exploring all the things there were to do there.
The family sleeping comfortably in the full bed-can you see the spot where my body was lying-we were not expecting the children to join us in bed so we were just a little tight.
Who's the dum-dum.....cousins enjoying their suckers
The first stop on our agenda for the morning was Mesa Falls. Definitely worth the stop!
Family photo with the falls
It was so cool to see the rainbow shining off of the mist and I also loved the lush green vegetation growing on the rocks
Allie and Cam being silly
Daddy and Sophie outside of Big Falls Inn
After lunch the kiddos busted out a paper airplane kit to work on
Sophie and Seth were quite the little buddies-only a year apart and they each thought the other was quite interesting
Later on in the afternoon we headed off to check out Quake Lake
The girls were the best with Sophie. She is not a big fan of sleeping anywhere but her bed and would get rather fussy in her car seat when she was tired, but wouldn't fall asleep. Cousin Jane road with us a few times and has a great little voice for being 8. She would sing to Sophie until she would fall asleep. Allie eventually chimed in to sing with Jane.
One of our favorite places ever was Harrimon State Park. The Park was owned by a well to do family back in the early 1900's and they donated the land to the State in the 1970's. It was so pretty there-what a dream it would be to own a ranch like this!
Allie tells me they were riding a horse
A beautiful view of the Teton Mountains
Allie and Blake on the trail. We took a little one mile loop walk around the park and Allie was a little frightened about stopping on the trail. It was getting dark out and Allie didn't want to encounter a bear. What a great day we had in Island Park!
